Today’s students are growing up in a world shaped by screens, algorithms, polarization, and AI, and schools are feeling the effects. Across classrooms, hallways, and homes, something essential is slipping: the ability to engage in thoughtful, meaningful conversation.

Conversation Comeback: A Schoolwide Guide to Discussion in a Distracted, Divided World is a practical, accessible resource designed to help entire school communities name this challenge and respond to it together.

Written for faculty, school leaders, and parents, this guide creates a shared understanding of the Conversation Crisis and offers a clear, collective path forward. It positions conversation as a core academic and human competency that can be intentionally taught, practiced, and strengthened across a school.

This April 2026 release serves as a companion to Conversation Comeback: A Teacher’s Guide to Class Discussion in a Distracted, Divided World (February 2026). While the Teacher’s Guide focuses on classroom practice and instructional moves, this Schoolwide Guide expands the work across the full school ecosystem.

The two books are designed to work together or individually. Schools may begin with the Teacher’s Guide to support immediate classroom practice, then expand to schoolwide alignment, or start with the Schoolwide Guide to build shared understanding and then move into classroom implementation. Together or on their own, they offer a coherent, actionable approach to restoring conversation as a central part of learning and human connection.
