About the book:

Leadership doesn’t just test your skills—it tests your soul.

Drawing from her experience as a high school principal leading a turnaround school during the pandemic, Dr. Terri Osborne pulls back the curtain on the hidden challenges of leadership—the isolation, the pressure, the emotional toll, and the decisions that can feel impossible. With unflinching honesty, she shares the lessons learned in the heat of responsibility and the insights that ultimately forged her resilience.

Rather than offering quick fixes or formulas, Osborne provides something more valuable: perspective. Through engaging stories and practical reflections, she equips leaders to:

  • Recognize the unseen weight of leadership and manage it with clarity.

  • Navigate conflict, crisis, and change while staying anchored to purpose.

  • Balance personal well-being with professional demands.

  • Lead with authenticity, courage, and faith in high-pressure environments.

Whether you are a principal, an educator, or a leader in any field, Fireproof in the Furnace will challenge you to look at leadership through a new lens. It is a reminder that the fires of leadership do not have to consume you—they can refine you, shape you, and leave you stronger than before.
